Kuna vitu vingi ambavyo mtu anaweza kula asubuhi (kifungua kinywa) kama chapati, maandazi, uji. Leo tunakuletea sababu za kuchagua mayai kwa kifungua kinywa na sio vitafunwa vingine kama vilivyotajwa hapo juu.
One can choose from a variety of snacks to have for breakfast but today we bring you reasons why you should choose eggs over the snacks. 
  • Mayai hukufanya ujisikie umeshiba kwa muda mrefu/Eggs keep you feeling full much longer
Mayai yana protini yenye ubora wa hali ya juu na inasemekana ndio ubora wa juu zaidi duniani baada ya ule unaopatikana kwenye maziwa ya mama. Protini hii na mafuta yaliyoko kwenye mayai husaidia kuimarisha nguvu mwilini na kumfanya mtu ajisikie kashiba kwa muda mrefu zaidi kuliko akila vitu kama maandazi na chapati vyenye kabohaidreti nyingi. 
Eggs are very rich in protein which is said to be the second best after a mother's milk. The protein and fat in eggs helps sustain one's energy levels, keeping them satisfied for longer compared to snacks that are rich in carbohydrate.
  • Ulaji wa mayai husaidia kupunguza uzito/Eggs assist weight loss
Siku hizi watu wengi wanafata kanuni za ulaji bora na kufanya kila wawezalo kupunguza uzito au kubaki na uzito wa wastani au mdogo walionao. Mayai yana kolini, virutubisho vinavyosaidia ukuaji wa akili na kuimarisha kumbukumbu za mwanadamu hivyo kuongeza ufanisi wa mwili.
Choline, an essential nutrient found in eggs, stimulates brain development and function. It has also been linked with increasing memory retention and recall as well as improving alertness.

Kwenye mayai kuna 'leutin' na 'zeaxanthin' zinazosaidia kuyalinda macho kutokana na miale ya UV inayotoka kwenye mwanga wa jua ambayo huyaharibu macho na ugonjwa wa mavho uzeeni.
Two antioxidants, leutin and zeaxanthin, are present in eggs and have been linked to protecting eyes from damage related to UV exposure. They have also been associated with reducing the likelihood of developing cataracts in old age.
  • Mayai ni chanzo kizuri sana cha protini/Eggs are a great source of protein.
